Terms of use

These terms describe access to Placid’s editorial website and apply to visitors from October 1, 2026. By reading the site, you accept these terms in a lawful manner.

1. Informational purpose

Placid publishes general educational material about natural health and wellness. Content is not medical, legal, financial, or therapeutic advice. It does not diagnose, treat, prevent, or cure any condition and does not replace a qualified professional.

These terms cover the public pages of placid.id, the contact form and any correspondence with the Placid desk in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. They are read together with the privacy policy, the cookies policy and the health information disclaimer, and where the documents differ on a specific point, the more specific document applies. The site is intended for adults aged 18 and over, and a younger reader should use it with a parent or guardian. Examples in articles, such as a sample week of meals or a walking routine, are illustrations of general ideas and not personal plans. Use of the site is also subject to the laws of the Republic of Indonesia.

  • (a) Visitors may read, bookmark and share links to pages for personal, non-commercial purposes.
  • (b) Visitors may not interfere with site security or attempt to access areas that are not public.
  • (c) Visitors who disagree with these terms should stop using the site.

2. Safe use

Readers remain responsible for decisions made from general information. Do not delay urgent care because of an article. Stop reading and seek help if a situation feels unsafe or severe.

A general article cannot account for a person’s medicines, history of injury, allergies or family circumstances, so any change to diet, exercise, sleep or routine should be considered with a suitably qualified professional where there is doubt. For example, a reader who takes regular medication and reads about a food or herbal infusion should ask a pharmacist or doctor whether it is suitable before adding it. Warning signs such as chest discomfort, sudden weakness, breathing difficulty or thoughts of self-harm need urgent professional help and should not be handled through a website. In Indonesia, readers can call 119 for emergency medical services or go to the nearest hospital emergency department. Placid cannot monitor messages around the clock, so the contact form is not an emergency channel.

  • (a) Seek urgent help for severe or sudden symptoms.
  • (b) Raise questions about medicines with a pharmacist or doctor.
  • (c) Treat articles as a starting point for conversation, not a final answer.

3. Intellectual property

Text, design, marks, and original editorial structure belong to Placid or its licensors. You may read, link, and quote short portions with attribution. Commercial copying, scraping, or republishing requires written permission.

Short quotations are accepted when they are accurate, credit Placid and link to the original page, and when they do not suggest that Placid endorses the person or organisation quoting them. Photographs and illustrations may belong to licensors and are not covered by permission to quote the text. Automated collection of pages for training datasets, mirror sites or comparison services needs written permission from the desk. A request for permission should name the pages, the intended use and the period, and we aim to respond within 10 working days. Rights under Indonesian copyright law remain with their owners, and nothing in these terms transfers them to a visitor.

  • (a) Permitted: personal reading, short attributed quotations and ordinary linking.
  • (b) Needs permission: reproduction of whole articles, images or page layouts.
  • (c) Not permitted: removing credits, altering text and presenting it as original.

4. Reader messages

Messages must be lawful, respectful, and free of malware. Do not send confidential medical records. You grant Placid permission to use a message to respond and to improve editorial planning, subject to the privacy policy.

Messages are read by editorial staff, and a reply is usually sent within 5 working days, although that period is a target and not a commitment. A message can be used to suggest a future topic, but personal details are not published and any quoted wording is anonymised or used only with the sender’s agreement. Material that is abusive, unlawful, discriminatory or intended to harvest personal data from staff may be deleted and the sender may be blocked. The desk does not provide individual health advice by email, and a reply will usually direct the sender to general resources or a professional. Messages are retained according to the privacy policy.

  • (a) Include a valid email address if a reply is wanted.
  • (b) Leave out other people’s personal details.
  • (c) Do not attach files unless the desk has asked for them.

5. Links

Links may help readers find independent resources. Placid does not control those sites or guarantee their accuracy, safety, availability, or privacy practices. Visiting them is your own decision.

Links may lead to public health agencies, universities, professional associations or local community organisations. Placid selects them for relevance when it publishes a page, but their content can change afterwards without notice. A link does not mean that Placid has a commercial or partnership relationship with the destination, and any such relationship would be labelled as described in the advertising policy. Readers who find a broken or inappropriate link can report it to [email protected], and the desk aims to review it within 7 working days. Terms of the linked site apply once a visitor leaves placid.id.

  • (a) Check the address bar before entering personal details on another site.
  • (b) Review the privacy notice of any linked site.
  • (c) Report links that appear unsafe or misleading.

6. Availability

We may update, pause, or remove pages for editorial, security, or maintenance reasons. We do not promise uninterrupted access or that every page will remain available indefinitely.

Planned maintenance is usually carried out outside peak reading hours in Western Indonesia Time (WIB, UTC+7), and short interruptions can still occur because of hosting or network issues. When a page is withdrawn for editorial reasons, such as a factual error or an outdated source, we correct or update it where practical and note significant changes on the page. Pages that are removed may remain in search engine caches or archives for some time, which Placid does not control. Readers who rely on a page for a specific task should save a copy of the information they need for their own records.

  • (a) Updates are dated on the page where the change is significant.
  • (b) Removed pages may be replaced by a summary note.
  • (c) Third-party caches are outside Placid’s control.

7. No warranty

Information is provided in good faith but without a promise of completeness or suitability for a particular person. Health outcomes vary and depend on circumstances outside an article.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by Indonesian law, Placid is not responsible for indirect loss arising from reliance on general editorial material. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Governing context

These terms are interpreted with regard to the laws applicable in Indonesia. Questions about local rights or remedies should be directed to an appropriately qualified adviser.

10. Changes

This edition is dated October 1, 2026. We may revise terms when the service or law changes and will display the new date. Continued access after publication indicates future use under the revised terms.

12. Severability

If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue. The invalid provision will be read as closely as lawful to its original purpose.

Further detail on liability, governing law, complaints and revisions

The closing provisions of these terms operate within the limits that Indonesian law allows, and the points below explain how they are applied in practice.

  • (a) Limits on liability: Placid does not exclude responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded, such as responsibility for its own deliberate misconduct. For ordinary use of a free informational website, a reader accepts that decisions taken from general content are taken at their own judgement, with professional advice where it is needed.
  • (b) Governing law: these terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. Any dispute that cannot be settled through discussion is intended to be brought before the competent courts in South Jakarta, without affecting any consumer right that the law gives a reader.
  • (c) Dispute handling: a reader with a concern should first write to [email protected] or to Jl. Cendrawasih No. 88, RT.003/RW.007, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Jakarta 12120, Indonesia, describing the page and the issue. We acknowledge a concern within 3 working days and aim to answer within 30 days, offering a meeting by telephone on +62 813 7755 3399 where that would help.
  • (d) Changes to the terms: updates are published on this page with a new date at the top. Continued use after an update means the reader accepts the new version, and a reader who disagrees should stop using the site.
  • (e) Revision log: October 1, 2026 – current edition published, covering scope, safe use, intellectual property, reader messages, links, availability and warranty provisions.
